Extra Information & Conditions for Show Participation
Pedigree/Application Requests from now on,
pedigree and application requests must be submitted through the website.
Requests can no longer be made via social media or WhatsApp.
This ensures that every order is clear and well organised for everyone and helps prevent misunderstandings or miscommunication.
Minimum Number of Entries
The following breeds must register in advance to participate:
American Bulldog
English Bulldog
Old English Bulldog
New English Bulldog
A separate class for these breeds will only be held if there are at least 3 entries per breed and age category.
Example:
If 3 adult American Bulldogs are registered, an adult class will be held.
If 3 American Bulldog puppies are registered, a puppy class will be held.
If 3 puppies and only 2 adults are registered, the puppies will have their own class,
but the adults will not be able to participate in that class.
If there are not enough dogs in a particular class,
DBKC reserves the right to place them in the Open Class.
Pedigree
If a dog is 6 months of age or older, it MUST have a pedigree in order to participate in the show.
If the dog currently only has an application, a DBKC pedigree must be requested.
This can also be done at the show.
A DBKC pedigree is not mandatory for general participation in our shows.
Pedigrees issued by any other registry are accepted.
However, if a dog earns the CHAMPION title, a DBKC pedigree must have been requested.
A dog cannot officially become a DBKC Champion while registered solely with another registry.
Please arrange this before the award ceremony.
Without a DBKC pedigree, the Champion title is not valid.
Excluded from Participation
Females in heat showing visible bleeding are excluded from participation.
Dogs with open wounds are excluded from participation.
Dogs showing signs of lameness are excluded from participation.
Dogs displaying any form of aggression will be required to leave both the ring and the venue.
It is therefore strictly prohibited to deliberately provoke or encourage a dog to become aggressive. Dogs belonging to visitors must not display aggressive behaviour either.
Owners, handlers or visitors displaying aggressive behaviour will be excluded from participation and asked to leave the venue.
Theft will not be tolerated and will result in permanent exclusion from participation in DBKC shows and/or access to DBKC show venues.
Under no circumstances is DBKC required to refund entry fees, admission fees or provide any other form of compensation when someone is excluded from participation.
Champion Class
Participation in the Champion Class is only possible by registering online in advance.
This allows us to verify whether participating dogs have officially achieved CHAMPION status.
Judges
The judge's decision is always final and binding.
DBKC has no influence whatsoever over the decision of the respective judge and has no say in the selection of winners.
Please respect the judge's decision. We understand that a decision may sometimes be disappointing.
DBKC cannot be held responsible for possible judging errors.
If you believe that a judge is providing incorrect information, ask for clarification IMMEDIATELY.
Do not wait until the class has finished, as it may then be too late to correct the situation.
Rules concerning matters such as eye colour, coat colour, dentition, ear position, dog height, etc. may occasionally change, and a judge may not have considered such a change at that particular moment.
Missed Class
DBKC cannot be held responsible in any way if a participant or handler misses their class.
t is your own responsibility to follow the ring schedule.
QR codes are available at the venue, and you can always ask the announcer or ring secretary which class is currently taking place. Please pay close attention to what is happening in the ring.
An announcer being difficult to hear is not a reason to hold DBKC responsible for a missed class.
Registration fees will not be refunded for missed classes.
Participating in another class as compensation is also not permitted.
Cropped Dogs
Dogs born after 2024 may NOT participate in DBKC shows with cropped ears unless a valid medical certificate can be provided.
This certificate must be presented at registration together with the dog.
f DBKC later discovers that the documents provided were falsified, or that a cropped dog born after 2024 participated without a valid medical certificate, any points earned may be withdrawn and the participant will receive an official warning.
Changes to these rules will take effect from 1 January 2027, so please make sure you stay informed about whether these changes apply to your dog.
Booths
A booth/show space can now be booked through the website.
It is also possible to book a bench, tent, table and chairs. These must be reserved online in advance.
If a booth or show participation is cancelled,
DBKC will not issue a refund or provide any other form of compensation.
Show
From now on, DBKC will only organise Double Shows.
Each participating dog will be judged by 2 different judges on the same day.
Registration is only possible for both shows together.
Ring Forms and Other Documents
All information you enter on the registration form will be copied exactly as provided.
If an incorrect name or other incorrect information is entered, this is not the responsibility of DBKC.
If you fail to include your kennel name or make other errors concerning names or details
corrections to our systems will not be made free of charge.
The same applies to applications and other official documents.
Always double-check that these important forms have been completed correctly and provide all requested information.
We are required to obtain this information for participation in our shows and for our official registration records.
Permanent ring Number
From September onwards, a permanent ring number is mandatory.
This helps keep the registration and judging process clear and organised for everyone.
Always wear the correct number for the correct dog.
If, after your class, you discover that you participated using the wrong number,
report this immediately to the person recording the points in the ring so that it can be corrected straight away.
Fraud involving registration forms, pedigrees, documents or any other form of fraudulent behaviour will result in exclusion from participation.
A participation/registration form is ONLY valid for the specific show for which it was purchased. It may never be transferred to another dog or used at another show.
You pay for participation in the specific show concerned. If the dog is unable to participate at that time, the registration becomes invalid. You may contact us in good time to see whether an alternative solution is possible.
Classes
Each dog may only participate in the class corresponding to its breed/type and age.
No exceptions can be made.
Missing your class is unfortunate,
so please pay close attention to when your dog is due to enter the ring.
If you are showing several dogs and are required to be in the other ring at the same time,
please inform the ring staff clearly and in good time.
DBKC cannot be held responsible if you fail to do so.
Always ask for confirmation to make sure the announcer or ring secretary has actually heard and understood you.
This is not always obvious when the ring is busy.
Please avoid bringing more dogs than you can realistically handle. The show cannot be delayed for one and a half or two hours because handlers are unavailable.
If you are showing several dogs, please bring additional handlers so that everyone can enjoy a smooth and efficiently run show.
Open Class
We have also introduced an Open Class, in which all breeds are welcome.
This makes our shows accessible to all breeds with a pedigree issued by any recognised or existing registry.
DBKC reserves the right to combine different types or breeds within the Open Class.
This may include, for example, the Shorty Bull and various Bulldog breeds when there are not enough entries to create a separate class.
This prevents classes with only one participating dog and ensures healthy and meaningful competition.
Points
Until last year, Belgium, the Netherlands and France each had their own separate DBKC points system, meaning that a dog could achieve a CHAMPION title in each individual country.
This has changed. From March 2026 it no longer matters in which country or location a dog earns its points. Points earned in all participating countries will count towards the same total for future shows.
These lists have been updated.
Points earned from 22 March 2026 onwards will be added to the points total of the country in which your dog previously earned the highest number of points.
In other words, we take the points from the country in which your dog has earned the most points as the starting point.
From there, all new points earned at future DBKC shows, regardless of the country, will be added to the same total.
Stars and titles earned in the past, regardless of the country in which they were achieved, will remain valid.
Puppy points earned once a puppy is older than six months will also no longer expire when the dog reaches twelve months of age.
Becoming a DBKC Champion does not mean the journey ends. We have introduced a new title: SUPREME CHAMPION.
This gives you the opportunity to continue competing with your dog towards this unique title — the icing on the cake.
In addition, we will soon introduce another new class/title.
Follow us on social media for more news.
All dogs that achieve the CHAMPION title will be honoured at the following show. You will, of course, be notified when your dog achieves either the Champion or Supreme Champion title.
We have also introduced the DBKC LEGEND title.
All Best of Show winners will be invited to the final show of the year to compete for this title.
THE BEST OF THE BEST together in the ring.
Adult dogs and puppies will compete separately, with each having their own class.
The winners will earn the title:
DBKC LEGEND 2026
They will receive a special award and a banner displayed in our Walk of Fame at every show.
Agreements and Promises Made Prior to the Current DBKC Takeover
Any promises or agreements made by other parties prior to the current takeover of DBKC regarding show participation, documents, registration, future points calculations or related matters were not made by the current DBKC President.
DBKC therefore cannot grant any rights based on such previous agreements or promises, as these were not made under the current DBKC administration.
The current DBKC President cannot be held responsible for errors in points calculations or registrations made BEFORE the takeover.
DBKC cannot grant rights to points that were not awarded or registered under the current administration.
The same applies to dogs that appear multiple times in previous points lists under different or incorrect names
