The doors of the venue open at 09:00

All pedigrees are accepted by DBKC.
Dogs aged
6 months and older must always have a pedigree.
Without a pedigree, participation is not permitted.
Registration is possible on the day of the show.
Please report to the entrance desk, where you will receive a registration form for participation in the show and a wristband for entry.
Online registration is also possible.
If you register online, your forms will be ready for you at the entrance desk.
You complete the registration form yourself.
The attached ring number must be kept with you and worn around your left arm.

START OF THE SHOW

The show starts at 10:30

All rounds for all classes will be announced, so make sure you are ready on time and do not miss your round. You are responsible for being present when your class is called. DBKC cannot refund paid entry fees if you miss your class.
Please pay close attention to the announcements. Classes will be announced, but every venue is different and sound travels differently throughout each hall. This may mean that the announcer is less clearly heard close to the ring while being easier to hear further away.
Regularly check which class is taking place in the ring or ask one of the officials.
flyers displaying the programme and the running order of all classes will also be available throughout the venue.

ENTERING THE RING

When your class is announced, enter the ring and take your place along the side with your dog.
Make sure your dog is always on your left-hand side and try to keep your dog walking neatly beside you.
The judge’s steward will collect your registration form in the ring and keep it.
The judge will then explain what they would like you to do, such as walking a lap around the ring, showing your dog’s teeth, etc.

HOW DOES PLACEMENT WORK AT OUR SHOW?

Dogs compete for:

1st place
2nd place
3rd place

If your dog wins 1st place, you continue to the Best Male / Best Female round.
After this comes the Best Of round, where the Best Male competes against the Best Female.
If your dog wins this round, you continue to the Best of Breed class.
In the Best of Breed class, all Best Male winners compete against each other and all Best Female winners within their category compete against each other.
This means that a winning dog from each age category will compete against the other age-category winners within its own type or breed.
All Best of Breed winners will then compete against each other in the Best of Show round.

AGE CATEGORIES

The following age categories apply:

3 to 6 months
6 to 9 months
9 to 12 months
1 to 2 years
2 to 3 years
3+ years

The dog’s age on the day of the show determines the class in which the dog must compete.
For example, if your dog is exactly 6 months old on the day of the show, the dog must compete in the 6 to 9 months class.

JUNIOR HANDLER

All children and young people under the age of 18 enter the ring together with their dog and participate in a Junior Handler round.
We believe it is important to teach young handlers the know-how required to handle their dog correctly and to participate in the entire show experience in a positive and sporting way.
This is an official class with points, connected to the Best Junior Handler title.
The Best Junior Handler title is awarded during the first show of the following year.

FUN SHOWS

Special fun classes are organised during every show, mainly during the break but sometimes also before the official show begins.
No official points are awarded in these classes, but there are fun prizes and beautiful awards to be won.

CHILDREN’S ROUND

Children up to and including 17 years old can participate in this fun round together with their dog.
Learning the know-how and receiving tips from professionals are the main focus of this class. Step by step,
children learn how to guide and present their dog like a real professional.
Every participant receives a rosette and there are only winners in this class

BEST HEAD

In the Best Head class, only the dog’s head is judged.
Males and females compete separately.
Puppies have their own Best Head round and do not compete against adult dogs.

BEST BODY

The name says it all
In the Best Body class, the dog with the best overall build and structure may call itself the winner of this new class.
It is one of the greatest compliments your dog can receive and a title every owner dreams of winning.

USEFUL ITEMS TO BRING

We recommend bringing a crate so your dog has a quiet and comfortable place to rest.
You may also want to bring a blanket or cover for the crate so your dog can relax away from all the activity.

Other useful items include:
Food and water bowls
A show lead or slip chain with a short lead
Dog treats
A ball
A squeaky toy
Your dog’s favourite toy
Special show leads are available from the sales stand.
Treats, balls, squeaky toys or favourite toys can be especially useful for dogs with little or no show experience. They can help keep your dog focused on you as the handler instead of becoming distracted by the surroundings or other dogs.

STANDS AND SPECTATOR AREAS

There is an opportunity to rent a stand/booth during the show.
Information and the associated costs can be found under SHOW REGISTRATION
Free spectator areas are also available where you can sit together with your dog and place your crate.

DOGS AND BREEDS ALLOWED AT OUR SHOWS

The following dogs and breeds are allowed to participate in our shows:

American Bully
Exotic
Micro
Shorty Bull
American Bulldog
Old English Bulldog
English Bulldog
French Bulldog
New English Bulldog
All other breeds that have a recognised pedigree

SPORTSMANSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY

We strive to create a positive and sporting atmosphere at all DBKC shows.

Of course, it can sometimes be disappointing when your dog does not receive the points or placement you hoped for. This may sometimes lead to disappointment or disagreement, but we ask everyone to maintain a sporting attitude and respect the decisions made
during the show.
A clean show venue is pleasant for everyone. Every handler or owner is responsible for immediately cleaning up after their dog
Together we can make it a great day and we all contribute to the succes of the show.

RULES:

MINIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES

The following breeds must register in advance to participate:

American Bulldog
English Bulldog
Old English Bulldog
New English Bulldog

A separate class for these breeds will only be held if there are at least 3 entries per breed and age category

Example

If 3 adult American Bulldogs are registered, an adult class will be held
If 3 American Bulldog puppies are registered, a puppy class will be held
If 3 puppies and only 2 adults are registered, the puppies will have their own class, but the adults will not be able to participate in the show
All Bulldogs and Shorty Bulls are currently placed in the Open Class until there are enough participating dogs for them to compete in their own breed classes again

OPEN CLASS

We have introduced an Open Class where all breeds are welcome
This makes our shows accessible to all breeds that have a pedigree issued by any existing recognised registry
DBKC reserves the right to place different types or breeds together in the Open Class
This may include Shorty Bulls and all Bulldog breeds if there are not enough participating dogs to create their own classes
This prevents classes with only one participating dog and ensures healthy competition
At this moment there are not enough Bulldogs so we place the in the open class

PEDIGREE

Dogs aged 6 months or older MUST have a pedigree in order to participate in the show
If the dog currently only has an application, a DBKC pedigree must be requested.
This can also be arranged at the show.
DBKC pedigree is not required to participate in our shows. Pedigrees from other registries are accepted for participation
However, if a dog achieves the CHAMPION title, a DBKC pedigree must have been requested.
A dog cannot officially become a DBKC Champion using only a pedigree from another registry
Please arrange this before the official Champion presentation
Without a DBKC pedigree, the title will not be valid

EXCLUDED FROM PARTICIPATION

Females in heat with visible bleeding are excluded from participation
Dogs with open wounds are excluded from participation
Dogs showing signs of lameness are excluded from participation
Dogs displaying any form of aggression may be asked to leave the ring and the venue
It is not permitted to deliberately provoke or encourage aggressive behaviour in a dog.
Dogs belonging to visitors must also not display aggressive behaviour
Dog owners, handlers or visitors displaying aggressive behaviour will be excluded and asked to leave the venue
Theft will not be tolerated and will result in permanent exclusion from participating in or visiting DBKC shows
Under no circumstances is DBKC required to refund registration fees, entrance fees or provide any other form of compensation when someone is excluded from participation

CHAMPION CLASS

Participation in the Champion Class is only possible by registering online in advance.
This allows us to verify that all participating dogs have officially achieved their CHAMPION status.

JUDGES

The judge’s decision is always final and binding.
DBKC has no influence over the decision of the judge and has no say in the selection of winners.
Please respect the judge’s decision. We understand that a result can sometimes be disappointing.
DBKC is not responsible for possible judging errors.
If you believe a judge has provided incorrect information, ask for clarification IMMEDIATELY and do not wait until the class has finished.
Once the class has ended, the result cannot simply be reconsidered.
This does not mean that the judge will change their opinion, but you can explain why you believe a mistake may have been made and ask for clarification.
Rules concerning matters such as eye colour, coat colour, teeth, ear position, height and other breed characteristics may change from time to time, and it is possible that a judge may not immediately have considered a recent change.

MISSED CLASS

DBKC is not responsible if a participant or handler misses their class.
You are responsible for following the ring schedule yourself.
Flyers displaying the programme are available and you can always ask the announcer or ring steward which class is
currently taking place.
Pay close attention and regularly check which class is in the ring.
An announcer being difficult to hear is not a reason to hold DBKC responsible for a missed class.
Registration fees will not be refunded for missed classes.
Participating in another class as compensation is also not permitted.

CROPPED EARS

Dogs born after 2024 may NOT participate with cropped ears unless you have a valid medical certificate.
The medical certificate must be presented during registration together with the dog.
If DBKC later discovers that the documents presented were falsified, or that a dog born after 2024 participated with cropped ears without a valid medical certificate, any points earned may be withdrawn and an official warning will be issued.
Changes to these rules will take effect from 1 January 2027, so please make sure you check whether the new regulations apply to your dog.

STAND / BOOTH

A stand or booth can now be booked through the website.
A maximum of 4 people are permitted per stand/booth.
It is also possible to book a crate, tent, table and chairs, but these must be reserved online in advance.
If a stand/booth or show participation is cancelled, DBKC will not refund any payments or provide any other form of compensation.
Banners are not permitted in the Free Benching Zone.
If you would like to display a banner, this is only possible for a fee of €25 or at your rented stand/booth.

SHOW

From now on, DBKC will only organise Double Shows.
Participating dogs will be judged by 2 different judges on the same day.
Registration is only possible for both shows together.

UNIQUE PERSONAL PARTICIPATION NUMBER FOR EACH DOG

From September, a unique personal participation number is mandatory for every dog.
This system has been introduced to prevent registration errors and make the registration process more efficient.
Please note: a photo is required.
Upload a clear photo showing the front of the dog and make sure all information is entered correctly.
The information you provide will be entered exactly as submitted.
We want to prevent incorrect names and information from being entered into our system and ensure that every dog only needs to be registered once.
If information is missing, the number will not be valid and will not be issued.
We strive for accuracy, which is why this one-time registration is required to ensure that all information concerning your dog is correctly entered into our system.
Always use the correct participation number for the correct dog.
If you discover after your round that you participated using the wrong number, report this immediately to the person recording the points in the ring so it can be corrected.

RING FORMS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS

All information you enter on the registration form will be copied exactly as provided.
If an incorrect name is entered, this is not the responsibility of DBKC.
If you forget to include the kennel name or make other errors concerning names or other information,
corrections in our system will not be made free of charge.
This also applies to applications and other official documents.
Always double-check that important forms have been completed correctly and provide all requested information.
We are required to collect this information for participation in our shows and for our official registration records.
Fraud involving registration forms, pedigrees, documents or any other form of fraudulent information will result in exclusion from participation.
A participation or registration form is ONLY valid for the specific show for which it was issued.
It can never be transferred to another dog or used at another show.
You pay for participation in that specific show. If the dog cannot participate at that time, the form will expire. You may contact us in advance to see whether a possible solution can be found.

CLASSES

Every dog may only participate in the correct class according to its breed/type and age.
No exceptions can be made.
Missing your class is unfortunate, so make sure you pay close attention to when your dog is expected in the ring.
If you are showing multiple dogs and need to be in the other ring at the same time, inform the ring officials clearly and in advance.
DBKC cannot be held responsible if you fail to do so.
Always ask for confirmation so you know that the announcer or ring steward has actually heard and understood you.
When working inside a busy ring, this may not always be immediately obvious.
Please do not bring more dogs to show than you can realistically handle.
The show cannot be delayed for one and a half or two hours because handlers are unavailable.
If necessary, bring additional handlers so everyone can enjoy a smooth and well-organised show.

POINTS

Until last year, Belgium, The Netherlands and France each had their own DBKC points system, meaning a dog could achieve a separate CHAMPION title in each country.

This has changed.
From March 2026, it no longer matters in which country a dog earns its points.
Points earned at DBKC shows in all participating countries will count towards the same points total.
The points lists have been updated and the published totals are the official current points earned by each dog.
Stars and titles earned in the past, regardless of the country in which they were earned, will remain valid.
Puppy points earned when the puppy is older than 6 months will also no longer expire when the dog reaches 12 months of age.
Once your dog becomes a DBKC CHAMPION, the journey does not stop.
We have introduced a new title:

SUPREME CHAMPION

The opportunity to continue competing with your dog towards this unique title is the next achievement after becoming Champion..
We will also introduce another new class/title soon, so follow us on social media for more news.
All dogs that achieve the CHAMPION title will be honoured during the following show.
You will of course be informed when your dog achieves the CHAMPION or SUPREME CHAMPION title.

DBKC LEGEND

We have also introduced the DBKC LEGEND title.
All BEST OF SHOW winners will be invited to the final show of the year to compete for this title.

THE BEST OF THE BEST

Adult dogs and puppies will compete separately and will each have their own class.
The winners may call themselves:

DBKC LEGEND 2026

The winners will receive a beautiful award and their own banner in our Walk of Fame, displayed at every DBKC show.

PREVIOUS AGREEMENTS AND PROMISES

Promises or agreements made by previous parties before the current takeover of DBKC concerning show participation, documents, registration, future points systems or other matters were not made by the current DBKC President

DBKC therefore cannot grant rights based on agreements or promises that were not made under the current DBKC organisation

The current DBKC President is not responsible for errors in points calculations or registrations made BEFORE the takeover

DBKC cannot grant rights based on points that were not awarded by the current organisation

This also applies to dogs that appear multiple times in previous points lists under different or incorrect names
